Dear Parent / Adult / Sibling,
If you enjoy Halloween, add to it a little extra fun that my family did over the years. Where Christmas can be in July, but better in October.
The Errch is intended not to be a fluffy character. He's more on the cheeky, crass side of personalities. There are plenty of children's books out there with la la characters, if you prefer them.
If you and your child want to sing a song, do so in the rhythm of the holiday season song, they are derived from. Due to their age, the songs are now in the public domain, which means the original music and lyrics can be modified into new content.
The word poo
is in a story. If you do not feel comfortable saying that word, substitute it with something like while walking at the zoo
or listening to cows go moo
and quickly move to the next page. If you are good with the word, it does take a little nerve to say it out loud in front of others, but it's what we all do - do. Explain to whatever your audience something like, We've all got to go to the bathroom sometime, don't we? Even the Errch has to go.
Disclaimer - the writer of these stories is not someone who is good at drawing (probably writing too 🤪). But, with phone size, they are good enough. It's a one man team for writings, drawings, web development, etc.
As in the stories, you may wish to have a tree to place a small gift under. You can buy various Halloween trees, or you can make one. If making, all you need to do is find some real trees and look underneath them for small branches that have fallen on the ground. To make the branch stand upright, I use a wide glass vase. The branch is held centered in the vase while colored glass, vase fillers are dropped in around it. The filler will stabilize the branch and add some decoration to your project. Lastly, string on some orange or purple lights for a Halloween glow.
